As we head towards Thanksgiving, there are so many ways to show our gratitude to our community. Donate a can of food (or more) to Brooklyn Troop 1G Cherry's Eagle Scout Project, a Thanksgiving Food Drive for a local homeless shelter. She's holding two outdoor collections points outside Met Foods Supermarket in Greenpoint on Saturday and Sunday. You can also drop off your donations at St. Stans Academy during the school days.
Volunteer to weed, mulch and beautify our parks, community gardens and cityscapes: Brooklyn Heights tree beds, Brower Park, Bush Terminal Park, Bushwick Inlet Park, Cooper Park, Greenpoint tree beds, Shore Park and Parkway, Sunset Park, and Wyckoff Farm. Keep fast fashion out of landfills by mending and upcycling, score gently used treasures at a Stop'N Swap, and get informed and engaged by attending a Prospect Park Lakeshore Restoration public meeting.

By the way, Pack 7 (coed), Troop 1G(irls) and Troop 26 (Boys) are holding their first ever wreath fundraiser. Do consider supporting them by buying a gorgeous, fresh, and fragrant 22″ balsam wreath for only $25. You'll bring holiday cheer to your home and help send a local Brooklyn scout to camp.
