Your Weekly Newsletter 10/27/2022
Halloween is around the corner and this weekend is full of spooky parties and costumed parades. Don't miss the 19th Annual Greenpoint Children's Halloween Parade, Spooktacular Party, and Zombie Nerf War. Check out haunted gardens, festive parks, and yummy treats all over Brooklyn:  61 Franklin Street Garden, Berry Street Garden, Carroll Park, Halsey Ralph and Howard Community Garden, Maple Street Community Garden, Marine Park, Powers Street Garden, and Washington Park. Carve a pumpkin, tour a spooky cemetery, enjoy spine-chilling musical performances, and show off your furr-babies.

And when the sun sets, snuggle up under a blanket for spooky outdoor movies: Haunted Mansion, Nope, and Twitches.
If you have time between all the Halloween festivities, take the kiddos to see creepy crawly creatures, hike among the fall leaves, and enjoy a concert by Suzi Shelton, Drag Story Hour, and crafts at Tot TimeCheck out Cub Scouts Lucky Pack 7 for your elementary schoolers and Troop 1G(irls)  and Troop 26 (Boys) for your middle schoolers and high schoolers. What are these scouts doing this weekend? The cub scouts are going to a Halloween party tomorrow, and the older scouts are going to help with the Greenpoint Children's Halloween festivities on Saturday! What fun!
Our outdoor spaces also need your love. So please roll up your sleeves to weed, mulch and beautify our parks, community gardens and cityscapes: Asser Levy Park, Cobble Hill Park, Greenpoint's street tree beds, and Transmitter Park. Ditch your unwanted electronics in an eco-friendly way at a e-waste recycling pop-up. Build a strong foundation for your garden group by learning about different group structures, leadership and decision making.
